Responding to the rise in anti-Asian hate incidents

KACL-NE is committed to supporting and promoting anti-racism, both against and within the AAPI community. Though anti-Asian sentiment has existed in America for decades, the COVID-19 pandemic paired with inflammatory political rhetoric has exacerbated anti-Asian hate crimes. Stop AAPI Hate indicates that there have been at least 3,795 hate incidents reported since the onset of the pandemic. The number continues to rise, most notably with the mass shooting in Atlanta, GA, that left 8 individuals dead, including 4 of Korean descent. KACL mourns for these victims with the rest of our community, and we recognize that the time to act against anti-Asian hate is now. Below, we have compiled fundraisers, groups, and pages to consider supporting.
